AI Foundations for Educators: An Asynchronous Workshop (March 17-April 20) In-Person

This three-part asynchronous workshop guides faculty through the evolving landscape of generative AI in education, offering practical tools and strategies for managing AI use in your courses. We will introduce you to the basics of generative AI, including an overview of what it is, how to effectively prompt AI tools, and where to find additional resources. You will explore decision-making processes around the use of AI, weighing the potential benefits and challenges in relation to curricular goals, and accessing resources tailored for both AI adoption and AI-resistant approaches. You will consider how to manage AI use in the classroom, covering essential topics such as setting clear guidelines, addressing academic integrity concerns, understanding AI detectors, and utilizing AI for both teaching and personal productivity. Each part is enriched with resources, examples, and activities to provide you with a better understanding of generative AI’s role in higher education. All Temple instructors and staff are welcome!
