Can We Really Talk? LGBTQIA+ Inclusive Classrooms with Jennifer Pollitt (Hosted In Person at the CAT) In-Person

For all students--especially those from underrepresented and stigmatized groups--feeling a sense of belonging helps students to feel welcome and respected, which can impact their motivation to learn and learning outcomes. This includes students who identify (publicly or privately) as LGBTQIA+. Creating a welcoming and inclusive learning environment gives all students the chance to challenge biases, think critically and respond in a productive manner, and succeed academically. Join us to explore your own attitudes and knowledge, and to evaluate your own classroom environments. You will leave the session with strategies from universities around the country, as well as TU resources, to create a welcoming and inclusive learning environment.

The Can We Really Talk? Series is co-sponsored by the Office of Institutional Diversity, Equity, Advocacy and Leadership (IDEAL).
