Can We Really Talk? Guest Speakers, Representation, and the Inclusive Classroom (Hosted In Person at the CAT) In-Person

Bringing professionals of color into the classroom as guest lecturers can be an excellent way to expose students to industry experts while providing role models who are typically underrepresented in their respective fields. Understanding what motivates guest lecturers of color to bring their authentic selves into the classroom is a critical component to making these experiences as meaningful as possible. Join Professor David Brown, Diversity Advisor to the Office of the Dean of Klein College of Media and Communication, who will share insights on this topic and from his article, "Called, Committed and Inspiring Activism -- Lessons Learned From Black PR Guest Speakers Through the Pandemic and Racial Reckoning" published in the Journal of Public Relations Education (JPRE).

The Can We Really Talk? Series is co-sponsored by the Office of Institutional Diversity, Equity, Advocacy and Leadership (IDEAL).
