Book Group: Teaching with Your Mouth Shut by Donald L. Finkel (Hosted In-Person at the CAT) In-Person

In Teaching with Your Mouth Shut, author Donald L. Finkel pushes back against the notion in our culture that a great teacher must be a great speaker, enchanting students with feats of oratory. He offers an alternate pathway where the classroom is a more democratic space where students speak first and speak best while still achieving great things. In this book group, we will examine how we can reduce the space occupied by our own voices and bring more students into the discussion.

This 3-part book group will meet in person on the following dates:

  • Wednesday, October 26, 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM
  • Wednesday, November 2, 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM
  • Wednesday, November 9, 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM

Registration for the first session will serve as registration for the subsequent sessions.

Registrants will receive a complimentary copy of the book. Books are available for pickup at the CAT reception desk (TECH Center, Suite 112). Once registered, please stop by to claim your copy.
