Delivering Effective Feedback to Stimulate Student Learning (Hosted In Person at the CAT) In-Person
Providing students with effective feedback is one of our most important roles as instructors. Students need our guidance to learn from past performance and to map out strategies for growth and improvement. This hands-on three-part series will help you ensure students receive timely, usable feedback while addressing the very real issues of exhaustion and burnout associated with conscientious assessment of student learning. We will address feedback given in both digital and in-person formats. Session 1 will focus on planning course assessments to maximize opportunities for students to practice and receive feedback. In session 2, we will do a deep dive into designing and implementing rubrics in Canvas. In session 3, we will review strategies and tools such as the Canvas comments library and audio/visual feedback options for managing your workload and avoiding burnout while ensuring students receive valuable feedback.
This 3-part workshop will be held in person on the following dates:
