Book Group: Syllabus: Note from an Accidental Professor by Lynda Barry (Hosted In-Person at the CAT) In-Person
In Syllabus: Note from an Accidental Professor artist and educator Lynda Barry explores a constellation of issues through the medium of the graphic syllabus, among them course design, imagination, memory, the purpose of art, journaling, and daily discipline. Join for a wide-ranging discussion on how Barry’s artistic meditations and classroom practices can inform our own teaching. In addition to a complementary copy of the text, all participants will be provided with a composition notebook for journaling experiments between sessions.
This 3-part book group will meet in person on the following dates:
- Thursday, Febuary 3: 2:00-3:30pm
- Thursday, March 10: 2:00-3:30pm
- Thursday, April 7: 2:00-3:30pm
Registration for the first session will serve as registration for the subsequent sessions.
Registrants will receive a complimentary copy of the book. Books are available for pickup at the CAT reception desk (TECH Center, Suite 112). Once registered, please stop by to claim your copy.
