Book Group: Whistling Vivaldi by Claude Steele (Hosted Online via Zoom) In-Person

Whistling Vivaldi: How Stereotypes Affect us and What We Can Do, Claude Steele

Join us for a discussion of Claude Steele’s groundbreaking research on stereotype threat and how it affects all aspects of our lives, including the classroom and student learning. How can we as educators be more thoughtful and critical about how stereotype threat impacts our classroom, society, and world? What can we do to create more inclusive learning experiences for our students where they feel a greater sense of belonging, engagement, and motivation?

This two-part book group will meet via Zoom on the following dates:

  • Thursday, September 23, 3:00-4:30 PM
  • Thursday, September 30, 3:00-4:30 PM

Registration for the first session will serve as registration for the subsequent sessions. Registrants will receive a complimentary copy of the book. Books will be available for pickup at the CAT reception desk (TECH Center, Suite 112) in early September.
