Book Group: Liberating Service Learning and the Rest of Higher Education Civic Engagement by Randy Stoecker (Hosted Online via Zoom) In-Person
This book offers a radical look into the history and assumptions of service learning and community-based learning in higher education. Written by Randy Stoecker, a Professor in the Department of Community and Environmental Sociology at the University of Wisconsin, the book presents recommendations for integrating community engagement with academic instruction. Join us as we explore the potential benefits and challenges of implementing community-based learning for students, institutions and communities.
The book group will meet three times:

- Thursday, February 18, 3:00 - 4:30
- Thursday, February 25, 3:00 - 4:30
Registration for the first session will serve as registration for the subsequent sessions. Participants will have access to the online version of this book through Temple Libraries. No hard copies will be distributed.
The facilitator will send an access link to this webinar via email prior to the session.
