Teaching with Technology: Podcasts as Digital Storytelling Assignments (Hosted Online via Zoom) In-Person

Podcasts allow students to work with sound in order to convey information, stories, and opinions. Born out of the digital storytelling movement, podcast assignments provide a creative alternative to traditional assignments. In the first part of this workshop, we will learn about the pedagogy behind digital storytelling, discuss the exciting potential of podcast assignments, and listen to example assignments to help brainstorm ideas for your courses. In the second part, we will learn how to use a free audio editing tool called Audacity to help you create your own podcast!

This workshop will be held in two sessions:

  • Thursday, February 11, 10:30am-12:00pm
  • Thursday, February 18, 10:30am-12:00pm

Registration for the first session will serve as registration for the subsequent session.

The facilitator will send an access link to this webinar via email prior to the session.
