Can We Really Talk? Session 3: What Just Happened? Reacting To Current Events in Your Courses (Co-Sponsored with IDEAL) In-Person

What do you do when your entire class is thinking about the same thing: current events that are fresh in everyone’s minds? The strong emotions and opinions these events create can affect classroom dynamics, causing students to be distracted and disconnected, and potentially developing into hot moments. In this session we will discuss ways to manage and discuss current events in the classroom in a way that promotes thoughtful reflection, active listening and productive discussion from students.

This workshop is co-sponsored by the Office of Institutional Diversity, Equity, Advocacy and Leadership (IDEAL).

Facilitator: Linda Hasunuma, Assistant Director, CAT

The CAT will send an access link to this webinar via email prior to the session.
