Can We Really Talk: Conversations Around Diversity, Race and Inclusion in the Classroom Pt. 1 In-Person

This semester, join us for interesting conversations around diversity, race, and inclusion in the classroom as we consider how the media plays a role in various aspects of our teaching.

Session One - Teaching About Bias Through the Lens of Media

Many students are familiar with the word bias, but are unsure how it systematically plays a role in different social environments. This session will explore how to acknowledge, teach and talk about bias with students (including our own biases). Additionally, we will discuss how media influences the examples and perspectives students bring to class, and consider the challenges and benefits it presents when navigating topics such as bias.
