Book Group: The Slow Professor: Challenging the Culture of Speed
Do you ever feel like life as an academic is a nonstop rollercoaster ride? In their book The Slow Professor: Challenging the Culture of Speed, Maggie Berg and Barbara K. Seeber apply the principles of the Slow Movement to the ever-growing stressers of academic hyper-productivity. This book group will meet three times to discuss how we can apply the Slow philosophy to our own lives to create better opportunities for meaningful scholarship, service, and teaching. Additionally, we’ll consider how to model a Slow approach for our own students as they develop their own responses to the frenetic pace of academic life. Participants receive a complementary copy of the book.
