Peak: Secrets from the New Science of Expertise In-Person

Many people are familiar with the so-called “10,000 hour rule” which holds that to develop expertise in a particular domain a person needs to practice that skill for 20 hours per week for ten years.  Now, Anders Ericsson the psychologist who conducted the original research behind the 10,000 hour rule has written a book about the development of expertise and superior performance  Hint: It’s more complex than simply doing a task for 10,000 hours.

Even if you do not plan to play Carnegie Hall or compete in the Olympics, Ericsson's book has many lessons for teachers, coaches and anyone who wishes to help others improve their performance.

Participants receive a complementary copy of the book and commit to attending all sessions.
