Zines for Learning and Assessment In-Person
Students sometimes feel like a class is something that happens to them rather than something they do. Motivation and success follow when we invite our students to build their learning rather than receive it. Zines, do-it-yourself magazines, provide a venue for students to express their learning in a fun and creative way, requiring them to bring a broader range of mental moves to bear. In this two-part workshop, you’ll learn a brief history of zines, practice making a zine as part of an in-class exercise, and develop ways of deploying zinemaking in your own classroom. All Temple instructors and staff are welcome!
