Breaking Through the Black Boxes: Belonging And Engagement Online In-Person

Sick of staring at a sea of black boxes on Zoom? You're not alone. We’ll chat about how to create an online environment that genuinely motivates students to invest in their own learning journeys — and maybe catch a glimpse of a face or two. We will review what the research says on motivation, build on what you’re already doing to increase students’ feelings of belonging, and practice with tools and approaches for increasing engagement via student-student interaction. Come with your unique experiences, wisdom and challenges to share. Leave with a toolkit of strategies for your next class session or course offering. All Temple instructors and staff are welcome!

Facilitators: Elizabeth White Vidarte, Online Learning Specialist, CAT
