Scholarship of Teaching & Learning (SoTL) Circle In-Person
Have an idea about an aspect of your teaching or your students’ learning you’d like to study? Maybe you already tried a new pedagogical technique and want to formally investigate its impact. If so, we invite you to join our Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) Circle. In this 12-part series you will learn how to design a SoTL study from start to finish while simultaneously constructing your project with the help of your Circle colleagues. We’ll also unpack the process of seeking university approval so you may carry out your research.
Please note that the SoTL Circle is for both beginners wanting to take their first step into educational scholarship and for those wanting to hone their teaching and learning research skills. In addition, this interdisciplinary cohort-based series is designed as a stepwise process; thus, attending all sessions and completing assigned readings and activities will ensure you and the group get the most out of this opportunity. All Temple instructors and staff are welcome.
Facilitator: Benjamin Brock, Assistant Director of the Scholarship of Teaching & Learning, CAT
