Can We Really Talk? A Conversation in Honor of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month In-Person

In honor of Asian American Heritage Month in May, we invite you to join a conversation about our growing Asian American and Pacific Islander community. Temple’s class of 2028 is 15% AAPI at the undergraduate level and our graduate and professional schools have a significant number of Asian and Asian American students. This session opens a space for faculty and staff to learn more about the community’s diversity and how cultural factors and stereotypes may shape learning experiences, outcomes, and mentoring interactions--and impact student mental health. We will share resources about Temple’s Gen Ed and Honors courses on AAPI history, affinity spaces and student organizations, as well as practices that can help faculty create more inclusive classrooms and meaningful mentoring relationships. All Temple instructors and staff are welcome!

The Can We Really Talk? Series is co-sponsored with the Office of Institutional Diversity, Equity, Advocacy and Leadership (IDEAL).
