Thoughtful Integration of Zoom AI Companion in Teaching In-Person

AI Meeting Assistants and Notetakers, which leverage the power of AI to automatically generate meeting notes, summarize sessions, and provide tools for transcript interaction, are becoming increasingly popular in educational settings. While many third-party AI notetaking tools exist, Zoom's AI Companion - the only tool of this sort that Temple allows for use in Zoom class sessions - is fully integrated into the platform. Its features may enhance teaching and learning, but should be used thoughtfully to ensure they support rather than replace active student engagement while protecting classroom privacy and open dialogue.

This hands-on workshop will introduce you to the different facets of Zoom AI Companion, demonstrate how to implement them in your Zoom meetings, and explore strategies for thoughtful integration that preserve essential aspects of learning. You'll learn not just how to use these tools, but how to leverage them in ways that truly benefit student learning while maintaining the personal context, active engagement, and safe discussion spaces that are crucial to effective education. All Temple instructors and staff are welcome.
