Teaching in the Disciplines: Teaching Coding Languages - Learning from Failure: Encouraging Growth Mindset in Programming Education (Online via Zoom) In-Person
Programming is all about failing, having a process to analyze why a program is failing and learning from those failures to create an improved end product. In this workshop, participants will consider how to design in- and out-of-class activities that encourage a growth mindset among students learning to code and equip them with the skills to overcome failures. While this session will deal with examples related to coding, the same process can be applied to many skills.
Facilitator: Cory Budischak, Associate Professor of Instruction, Electrical and Computer Engineering, College of Engineering
