Practical Strategies for Teaching in the Age of AI (Hosted Online via Zoom) In-Person

This session will focus on practical strategies for teaching in the age of AI, whether you decide that AI is useful for learning in your class or you decide that you need to design more AI-resistant assessments. We will explore how to manage assignments that are vulnerable to AI, both by redesigning assessments in order to reduce the possibility of student use of generative AI tools, and by integrating AI tools into the assignments and activities productively to encourage learning. We will also discuss ways to engage with generative AI critically as we lead students to think deeply about the implications of its presence in our lives. Faculty will walk away with practical ideas to implement in their courses.

Facilitator: Stephanie Fiore, Associate Vice Provost and Senior Director, CAT; Jeff Rients, Associate Director, CAT
