Can We Really Talk? Session 3: Supporting our LGBTQIA+ Students and Colleagues at Temple (Hosted in person) In-Person

According to the Human Rights Campaign, over 520 anti-LGBTQ+ bills have been introduced in state legislatures and more than 250 of these bills specifically target transgender and non-binary people. A record 70 anti-LGBTQ laws have been enacted so far. These bills and the rhetoric promoting them can harm our students’ and colleagues’ sense of well-being and safety. In this session, we will discuss how to support and affirm our LGBTQIA+ community at Temple and continue to nurture an inclusive learning community for our students. Our faculty panel will share their insights and resources at Temple and in the greater Philadelphia community.

Faculty Panelists: Heath Fogg Davis, Professor, Political Science and Director, Intellectual Heritage, CLA; Jennifer Pollitt, Assistant Professor and Assistant Director, Gender, Sexuality and Women's Studies, CLA; Wendy Cheesman, Assistant Professor of Instruction and Program Director, Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, CPH

Facilitator: Linda Hasunuma, Assistant Director, CAT
