Zines in the Classroom (Hosted in person) In-Person
Need a low-tech, high-creativity activity or assessment? Zines are amateur books/booklets/magazines, often handmade and hand-assembled by lone writers/artists or small communities. Zines have a long history as an alternative to mainstream media, used by counterculture groups and others whose voices go unheard in our public discourse. In this workshop, we will look at how to turn zines and the act of zine-making into engaging classroom activities and assessments. You will leave the workshop with your own mini-zine documenting your experience!
