Makerspace Technologies to Help Your Students Learn: An Introduction to the Innovative Teaching with Technology Grant In-Person

How can faculty use makerspace technologies to build a richer and more engaging learning experience for students? Join us as we explore how the tools at the Loretta C. Duckworth Scholars’ Studio in the Charles Library, such as immersive media technology (virtual reality), 3D reconstruction, mapping and GIS software, circuitry, text mining, and fabrication equipment like 3D printers and laser cutters, can be employed to help students learn while preparing them for the kinds of technology they may use in the future. We will look at the tools found in the LCDSS and share how different Makerspace Grant recipients have used these in creative ways to grow their offerings in the classroom. This workshop will provide insight into the potential the tools offer for formal classroom settings. We recommend this workshop for faculty interested in applying for the Innovative Teaching with Technology Grant sponsored by the Center for the Advancement of Teaching and University Libraries.

This workshop will be held as a webinar via Zoom. An access link will be sent to all registered guests shortly prior to the webinar's start time.
