Teaching with Technology: Podcasts as Digital Storytelling Assignments In-Person

Podcasts allow students to work with sound in order to convey information, stories, and opinions. Born out of the digital storytelling movement, podcast assignments provide a creative alternative to traditional assignments. In the first part of this workshop, we will learn about the pedagogy behind digital storytelling, discuss the exciting potential of podcast assignments, and listen to example assignments to help brainstorm ideas for your courses. In the second part, we will learn how to use a free audio editing tool called Audacity and help you create your own podcast!

This workshop is held in two sessions:

  • Series Session 1: Friday, February 7, 2020 from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm
  • Series Session 2: Friday, February 14, 2020 from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm
