A Glimpse into the Gateway: Pathways into Community-Engaged Learning through Temple's Community Gateway In-Person
Temple University’s Community Gateway is a resource center where members of our Philadelphia neighborhoods can receive assistance in connecting to the wide variety of services available through Temple and its community and government partners. This workshop introduces faculty to Temple's Community Gateway and related resources, including the Community Engagement database and Owls for Philly. Community Gateway staff members Antonio Romero and Shelbie Ulysse will be joined by Aunshul Rege, Professor of Criminal Justice, to discuss ways faculty can get involved.
In this session, you will:
- learn how you can get involved with the Community Gateway;
- access examples of activities that are in the Community Engagement database;
- share how you'd like to engage the community and the kinds of resources that would help you to do so; and
- meet other faculty members who are interested in community-engaged learning.
Facilitators: Antonio Romero, Director, Community Impact and Civic Engagement; Shelbie Ulysse, Department Coordinator, Community Impact and Civic Engagement; Aunshul Rege, Professor of Criminal Justice, CLA; Dani O'Brien, Accessible Pedagogy Specialist, CAT
