Join colleagues for a discussion of Empowered: A Woman Faculty of Color's Guide to Teaching and Thriving by Chavella T. Pittman. Drawing on research and practical strategies, the book explores the unique experiences of women faculty of color in higher education while offering tools for navigating teaching, institutional expectations, and career advancement with authenticity and resilience. Together, we'll reflect on the book's insights, build community, and discuss how we can create more equitable and supportive academic environments for all faculty. All Temple instructors and staff are welcome!

This two-part book group will meet online via Zoom on the following dates:

• Friday, September 25, 12:00-1:00 PM
• Friday, October 16, 12:00-1:00 PM

Registration for the first session serves as registration for the subsequent session. Participants will receive a complimentary copy of the book. 

Books will be available for pickup at the CAT reception desk (TECH Center, Suite 112). Once registered, please stop by to claim your copy. Please read the intro and chapter 1 for our first meeting. The second meeting, we will "jigsaw" (more on that in the first meeting).

The CAT will email registered participants a Zoom access link for this webinar one hour prior to the session.
