Accessible Teaching Essentials: Building Accessible PDFs In-Person

This one-hour workshop focuses on creating and remediating PDFs to make them accessible and usable with assistive technologies. You will learn how tagging, reading order, text recognition, and export settings affect accessibility, and you will practice evaluating common PDF issues. The session also introduces Panorama and guides you through using its tools to remediate inaccessible PDFs. This workshop is a great refresher for those with prior CAT accessibility training and as a first step for those just getting started. All Temple instructors and staff are welcome!

The workshop will be followed by an optional 30-minute work session where you can practice remediating your PDFs with a facilitator on hand to answer any questions or guide you through the process if needed.

Facilitator: Dani O'Brien, Accessible Pedagogy Specialist, CAT

Please note that this course does not meet the requirements for the Digital Accessibility Micro-Credential.
