Choose Your Own Adventure Assignments with Twine (Hosted in person) In-Person

Effective critical thinkers can imagine various perspectives, alternative options, hypothetical scenarios, and unexplored paths. Teaching this ability can be challenging, but interactive fiction offers an enjoyable way to help students develop these skills. In this two-part workshop, you will learn the fundamentals of creating interactive fiction and methods for teaching it to your students. The workshop also covers tips for designing interactive-fiction assignments and strategies for evaluating them. You will get an introduction to the user-friendly tool Twine, as well as techniques for crafting interactive fiction using standard writing tools like word processors or paper-and-pencil.
